Vocationist Catholic College @1 Anniversary

Mr. Chairman, Honourable Guest of Honour, Madam Guest Speaker, P.T.A Chairperson, Distinguished Invited Guests, Staff and Pupils of Vocationist Catholic College, Ladies and Gentlemen. I warmly welcome you to this colourful occasion where we are all converged to celebrate a great school.

Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen, this month marked exactly the first milestone of the existence of Vocationist Catholic College. That is why we have cause to celebrate.

Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen, academic work in Vocationist Catholic College is a very serious business because we eschew mediocrity and always strive for excellence in our school. There is a strong bonding cohesion among the rank and file of the staff which is a driving force for team work. In our quest for excellence we have all resolved to be dedicated, committed and hardworking and that has yielded a lot of dividends.

All subjects on the curriculum are given equal attention. Instructional hours are extensively and beneficially utilised. Adequate class exercises and homework are given, marked and thoroughly discussed. Discipline is one of our strongest hallmarks and we instil it judiciously because we believe it is a catalyst for excellent academic work. No wonder our pupils always excel.

Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen, co-curricular activities are given the much needed attention. There are various clubs in the school which the children belong to. Wednesday afternoons have been set aside for club meetings. Friday afternoons are also meant for activities such as Quiz, Spelling Bee and Book Worm programmes. We believe that a sound mind lives in a sound body so Physical Education and other sporting activities are not compromised.

Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen, no excellent and result oriented school can make strides without the necessary facilities. All the facilities that enhance, teaching and learning are available in the school. We have a well equipped Science Laboratory, a well stocked library, a state of the art Computer Laboratory with internet facilities and many others.

Finally, Mr. Chairman, Guest of Honour, Guest Speaker, Distinguished Invited Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for honouring our invitation. Relax, remain calm and enjoy the rest of the programme to the fullest.
